Storksbill or Heron’s Bill usually has attractive cut foliage and flowers for a long period in summer.
There are some 60 species, found in limestone mountains in many areas of the world, although most are native to the Mediterranean region.
They grow best in full sun and dislike acid soil. Well-drained soil is essential. Some of the smaller alpine varieties are best grown in rock gardens or troughs, while the larger species will hold their own in a mixed border.
