CARYOPTERIS

CARYOPTERIS

LAMIACEAE

Bluebeard is a genus of small shrubs, which produce clusters of blue, lilac, purple or white flowers, in late summer and often have attractively coloured foliage.

There are just six species, which are found throughout Asia, from the Himalayas to Japan, growing on scrubland or in mountain crevices.

They grow best in full sun, with good drainage and are tolerant of poor, dry soils.
