Hardy's Gardening Tip for the Week: Lots of your summer herbaceous perennials will be setting seeds so this will be the time to be collecting them whilst the weather is still good and the seed heads are dry. Make sure you collect seeds in paper bags and label clearly what you have collected Ensuring that you do not touch the seeds with your hands |

The 'Home-Grown' logo is a new initiative from the Horticultural Development
Company (HDC). The aim is to create a recognised symbol to indicate British-grown plants.
99% of the plants that we sell are grown on our nursery, with most of these starting out in our own propagation unit.
The 'Nursery Grown Scheme' is a new initiative from the Horticultural Exhibitors Association (HEA). Members of the scheme are all specialist nurseries who grow their own stock and retail direct to the public. It aims to highlight to customers that they can speak directly to the grower and benefit from their experience and knowledge, as well as indicating that the plant has not been transported long distances unnecessarily.
When you buy from one of the participants of The Nursery Grown Scheme you know you are helping to support the UK’s specialist nurseries, and preserving this unique bounty for future generations of gardeners.
'Proud to support IPPS'
This is a new initiative from the International Plant Propagators Society (IPPS), to promote the society to a broader audience. The society aims to keep its members informed of the latest industry developments, so that propagation and production techniques can be improved and updated. Hazel, one of our team of propagators, is a member.
