Plants ready to go to Alton Farmers' Market on Saturday 13th March.
Nursery Diary 12/03/10
Developments on the Nursery: This week has seen two new arrivals at the nursery. Six month old kittens, Bonnie and Clyde, have joined the team and are settling in well. They are still a little camera-shy, but we will hopefully have some photos for the diary soon. Also, we have been busy gathering plants for the weekend's sales and potting up stock for the start of the 2010 show season. The sales area on the nursery is still being filled up with new stock, as it becomes available, and mail orders are coming in thick and fast.
Hardy's on the Road: Rosy and Rob Hardy are still giving spring talks, at various gardening clubs and organisations, with two dates booked for next week. And we have a busy weekend coming up, with two Farmers' Markets and a plant sale. Rosy will be at Wyck Rissington, Gloucestershire on Saturday 13th, while Rob is at Alton Farmers' Market. Or you can join Rob at Winchester Farmers' Market on Sunday 14th.
Hardy's Gardening Tip for the Week: Now is the ideal time to tidy up those old brown leaves on Helleborus x hybridus or H. niger varieties. Cut them off at ground level and it not only improves the appearance of the plant, but also allows you to better appreciate the lovely spring flowers. |
